Job Description: Assistant Collections Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Assistant Collections Head to lead and manage the collections team in our vehicle finance division. The role involves strategizing recovery efforts, minimizing delinquency rates, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, an analytical mindset, and expertise in loan recovery and risk management.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Management

    • Supervise and guide the collections team to achieve recovery targets.

    • Train, motivate, and monitor team members to enhance performance and efficiency.

    • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress and address challenges.

  • Recovery Strategy and Execution

    • Develop and implement effective strategies to manage overdue accounts.

    • Monitor high-risk accounts and ensure timely follow-ups to minimize losses.

    • Negotiate repayment terms with delinquent customers while maintaining professionalism.

  • Customer Relationship Management

    • Maintain positive relationships with customers while ensuring timely recoveries.

    • Address disputes or escalations related to repayment and provide viable solutions.

  • Compliance and Reporting

    • Ensure all recovery activities comply with regulatory guidelines and company policies.

    • Prepare detailed reports on delinquency trends, recovery efforts, and team performance.

    • Analyze data to identify patterns and recommend process improvements.

  • Coordination and Collaboration

    • Work closely with branch managers, credit teams, and legal departments to resolve complex cases.

    • Coordinate with external agencies for additional recovery support when needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • 5–7 years of experience in collections or recovery, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.

  • Proficiency in using recovery management systems and MS Office.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
